The Seventh - Stank

Hole Name Length Par Length Par SI Length Par SI
7 Stank 430 4 380 4 1 375 5 13

The water hazard known locally as the "Stank" runs diagonally across the fairway, with its furthest point 235 yards from the white tees. This is a challenging par 4 at stroke index 1 for the men but easier for the ladies at 375 yards (par 5). The fairway is partly lined with trees which must be avoided. There are two bunkers onn each side of the green to catch the slightly wayward approach shots and beware that the racecourse behind the green is out of bounds.

Champions Tip

You must carry the "Stank" with your tee shot to have a chance of reaching the green in two. This still leaves a medium to long iron to reach the target in regulation. The green slopes steeply at the front and it is easy to leave your second short.

Bryan Graham (2007 Champion)
