In 2010 Kelso Golf Club is committed to continuing its structured Junior Development Plan for our boy and girl members. This will build on the foundations laid by Fiona Ker, Eleanor Pearson, Bryan Graham and Brian Hastie, our ClubGolf Level 1 coaches, who have been experiencing great success with the girls section over the last two years.

In a relatively short space of time they have already encouraged boys and girls to successfully play competitive golf, with more ready to play for their handicap.

Coaching will be available weekly throughout the year with our club coaches receiving regular support from Steve Johnstone, the assistant Pro at the Roxburghe.

Coaching will commence after Easter and boys and girls aged between 8 and 11 who wish to join our clubgolf programme should contact Bryan Graham (01573 229363).

The Active Schools Co-Ordinator will be visiting local primary schools to encourage boys and girls to take up the game and lead more active and healthy lives. Kelso Golf Club will endeavor to provide spaces within our summer coaching programme for all boys and girls who show an interest during school sessions.

The Royal Mail Sports Foundation have been generous supporters of the girls over the last two years, helping with coaching equipment and supplying wind tops for every girl in the group. Any other form of sponsorship for the Junior section, a very important element of our club, would be welcomed and interested parties should contact Bryan Graham.
