Welcome to Kelso Golf Club

.

The course remains in great condition and Phil and his team deserve great credit for the way they have presented our tees, fairways and greens throughout the season. Members and visitors alike have enjoyed the benefits of their hard work.

Gents competitions will continue throughout September with the Glenfiddich Greensomes bringing the season to an end on Saturday 25th. Gents winners since our Championship Finals day are Michael Brydon (Belhaven Shield), Keith Hook (Buist Cup), Captain Ian Lauder (Challenge Trophy), Ian Thomas (who won the trophy he presented to the club, the J.F. Thomas Trophy), Jake Graham (Martell Trophy), Bob Hogarth (Civic Week Stroke), Mel Ross (Kelso Show Stroke), Tom Romanis (Rover Cup), David Hirst (McHutchison Trophy), Brian Hastie and George Sanders (Cameron Trophy), Gary Hastie (Thistle Cup), Ian Ford (Hislop Dumma Putter) and Ted Wilson and Dave Johnstone (Elsie Ford Greensomes).

Gent members are encouraged to support the “Men and Boys” Trophy on Sunday 5th September after which the presentation of Junior trophies for the 2010 season will take place.

The club recently hosted a “Ping Demonstration Day” which was very well supported and proved a great success. It is hoped that this can be repeated at some point next season.

Members and guests can, once again, watch live sport at the club on Sky Sports and ESPN. An updated list of live events including golf (European Tour, USPGA Tour and Ryder Cup) and football (English Premier League, SPL, Champions League and International matches) will be posted within the club lounge. So, if you enjoy your live sport and haven’t got Sky or ESPN at home, why not come along and watch amongst fellow members in the comfort of the club lounge.

Our next monthly presentation night is on Saturday 4th September, when following the presentation of trophies, members and guests will be entertained by local singers in a special “Stars in Your Eyes” night. These nights have been very popular in the past so, if you want a seat, it would be best to come along early. If you would like to participate contact Ian Ford, on 01573 223334, who will let you know if there is a slot available. Katie and her team, as always, will be there to keep you well fed and watered.

Talking of being well fed and watered, our Christmas Party nights are not too far away and Katie is now taking bookings. The Party nights will be held on 27th November and 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th December. Music will be provided on all these night by the very popular Kev Wilsons Disco. Some “early bird” bookings have already been taken so we suggest that you book your place(s) soon to avoid disappointment.

Club membership is still available in all categories and new members will be made very welcome. Rates are discounted by 50% up to the end of September and, with no joining fee being charged, there’s no better time to join our club. Anyone interested in joining should contact our Office Administrator, Deryck Scott on 01573 223009 or our Secretary, Donald Jack, on 01573 228821 (evenings). >br>
